THAILAND FLOODS 2011
As Bangkok is still waiting for the waters to recceed from the devasting floods that have effected much of the country the Haven Project is already working in the northern proviences providing food, medical care and assistence to clean up. Most of the help is being done by locals from the community with support from visiting teams.
One of the projects was to villages outside of Mae Cham where a dam had burst flooding the village and surrounding region. A team from Chiang Mai travelled to the region with much needed rice and other staples, assisted the local church volunteers who were hellping in clean up and also set up a medical clinic.
The net phase of opportations is in Bangkok area once the flood waters have receeded enough to start the log and tiring job of cleaning up.
At the Haven Project we love to share our vision and work with others. You can be a part of this vibrant ministry. Volunteers can apply to come for between one week to three months, and teams can apply for either all or some of their time overseas.
